Border Collies practice extreme sheepherding

The Border Collie is used in Europe to keep sheep under control for their shepherd masters.
The Animal Planet TV channel says the dogs are introduced to sheep as puppies, then later given verbal commands, and eventually those commands are converted to a series of whistles. Eventually, the dogs and their masters communicate through a series of intricate whistling that, one shepherd says, can sometimes confuse him at times because of the sheer number of whistling commands given to the pooches.
Even so, the collies and shepherds have proved that sheep can be put anywhere.
Case in point: A film crew in 2009 challenged a group of collie-owning shepherds to form pieces of arts – in the daytime and nighttime, and the results went viral on YouTube. See below.
