HERNANDO, FLA. – A Hernando man who later said he “only took orders from his dad” was arrested on Sunday after leading Citrus County deputies on a chase after refusing to stop.

Arrested was Marcus Koller, 22 of 4428 N. Aztec Point, Hernando.

According to the arrest report, a deputy patrolling U.S. 41 and Middle School Road in Inverness spotted Koller’s red compact car doing 50 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Even though a deputy turned on his cruiser’s lights and siren, the arrest report says, Koller refused to stop. At one point, Koller put on his emergency blinkers and began to slow down, and a second deputy joined in the chase, and Koller slowed down to 35 mph, turned into the parking lot of the Hernando Post Office and then got out of his car.

Asked why he didn’t stop, Koller told deputies that he “takes his orders from his dad, and only his dad.”

Koller was charged with driving with an expired license and fleeing and eluding law enforcement officers.

Total bod was set at $5,500.
