We've made it to Cyndi's List

The Douglas Family Tree site has applied for, and been granted, a listing spot on Cyndi's List, the most prestigious genealogical listing site on the Internet.
Carson Family Reunion 2009 a success
In case you missed it, the Carson Family gathered again this year on July 25, 2009 at Pisgah ARP Church, 3600 S. Linwood Road in Gastonia, NC.
It was a simple program - sharing pictures and stories of the Carson Clan (new or old). Participants brought a picture or a story to share. John pulled together a slideshow of some pictures.

In case you were wondering, or even if you weren't, the family blog here at dnadropbox.com is still very much alive.
Having switched to a new version of software, we've decided the old approach to the family blog site was best. So, some things were put back that originated with the first design of the site.

Private buyout of Ancestry.com for $300+ million

Spectrum Equity Investors has led a $300 million investment to acquire a majority interest in Provo Utah-based The Generations Network (the parent company of Ancestry.com, MyFamily.com and other sites) according to a source with knowledge of the deal.
What that means for our sister site, MyFamily.com's Douglas Family Web site, is unclear, but my guess is the Douglas Family Web Site will likely continue, since it has to do with revenue for Ancestry.com. I also think our planned move to MyFamily.com 2.0 will continue, as well.
